The Collaboration Room – Stitch it Together
Attention Bloomington folks — if you don’t already know about The Collaboration Room (lives at 214 N. Rogers Street, near 6th and Rogers) you should really check it out. And there’s no time like the present … right now they’re hosting a how-to sewing series called Stitch It Together that has some really impressive and unique workshops the likes of which you don’t usually find … well, I was going to say “around here” but actually I have not seen some of these ideas anywhere. Conductive thread, hand bookbinding and making your own jeans — making your own jeans?! — are in the mix, as well as more informal free sewing sessions and mending/embroidery gatherings. They even have machines so you really have no excuse. If nothing else, you should stop by and say hello, they’re very nice people and the space is super impressive!
